Research
The GACD supports research across five areas of chronic, non-communicable diseases: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, lung disease, cancer and mental disorders. Together GACD member agencies fund research projects across the globe, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries and vulnerable populations in high-income countries. The GACD puts implementation science at the core of each of its joint calls for applications and expects funded research projects to address implementation challenges in their particular settings. All funded research teams make up the GACD Research Network, which has the aim to foster collaboration and cross-study learning to strengthen the impact of the research, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes.
