We want all our research to make a real difference to people living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) around the world. We do this by funding research with the strongest potential to inform national and international policies for the prevention and control of NCDs in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs).
The measurable impacts we want to see include a reduction in risk factors for developing NCDs, improved management of patients living with NCDs, and a reduction in health inequalities and inequities both within and between countries.
We have evolved a proactive strategy for encouraging the likelihood of impact, including capacity strengthening activities and encouraging collaboration and networking across fields of research and health sectors.
