To understand our impact to date, in 2020, we commissioned an independent evaluation of GACD’s activities.
The Technopolis team used a theory based mixed-methods approach, using both qualitative and quantitative methods, to develop a report with insights and recommendations for GACD, a series of impact case studies and a logic model for GACD.
The main findings of the evaluation were that:
GACD has an important role in the global funding landscape.
GACD has established a well-functioning model for collaboration between funders.
GACD members fund high quality NCD implementation science research of relevance to need of LMICs and underserved populations experiencing health disparities.
GACD projects and activities are fostering collaborations across countries, disciplines, and sectors.
GACD networking and training activities are building capacity in NCD- implementation science research.
Engagement with policymakers and other research users is a key enabler of impact
GACD projects have the potential to achieve policy impacts in the future.
There was a need to increase visibility and better capture the impact of GACD projects.
