From 2014 to 2019, GACD facilitated Implementation Science Workshops to introduce early- and mid-career researchers to implementation science over a two-day programme.
The curriculum covered:
How to study and implement research findings into policy and practice
Major theories, models, and study designs
Ways of collaborating and networking globally
Exemplars of implementation science
Since inception, the Workshops were facilitated by GACD researcher Professor Brian Oldenburg. Brian took the workshop offerings from modest beginnings of 25 participants at the first event in Xi’an, China, to 60+ participants, including novel and innovative engagement of policymakers and funders.
Over a six year period, GACD facilitated 12 Workshops, across 10 countries. The Workshops were instrumental in building the foundation for GACD’s suite of training events and resources.
These now include:
An open access e-Hub. All the materials used to deliver training events are available for free on the GACD e-Hub. Our e-Hub is ideal for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners at any stage in their career, from anywhere in the world with an interest in implementation science as an essential aspect of bridging the evidence-to-practice gap.
Three-week Schools exploring the fundamentals of implementation science
Five-week Masterclasses deep-diving into specific topics
Two-day Express Workshops introducing researchers new to implementation science to the field
Thematic workshops exploring cross-cutting issues
