GACD convene a group of international experts to scope potential future call topics and the last expert advisory group meeting took place in October 2023.
The GACD programme subcommittee work with the expert group to develop future call texts. Funders participating in a call agree the remit and scope of the topic, although individual funders may have specific requirements around remit or geographical location of projects – these will be announced on the funding call page.
The majority of funders in the alliance run a joint review process, using a common application portal – however, two of our funders, the EU Commission and the US NIH always run their own independent application process, under the same call umbrella.
Details about the latest call and how to apply can be found on our current funding calls page. Details of upcoming call topics can be found on the future funding calls page.
Peer review
Both the EU Commission and the US NIH run their own independent peer review processes. GACD run a joint review process for other funders participating in a call- for more information about the joint review process, take a look at our peer review page.
Funding awards
Individual funding agencies make final funding decisions based on the recommendations from the peer review meeting and the agency’s available budget. Successful awardees will be notified and funded by the agencies to which they have applied. The GACD staff team does not communicate awards decisions or administer funding.
