Over 100 delegates from GACD-funded projects, member agencies, local researchers, and programme implementers joined us in Singapore for the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) 2023.

From sessions on decolonisation to connection and collaboration, delegates engaged in discussions and shared learnings around implementation science. During the conference, the GACD Strategy Board and Programme Subcommittee held meetings on strategic planning and funding calls for 2024 and beyond.

During the ASM, the winners of the Poster Competition were announced, with INTE-Africa’s “A Cost Saving Option for Chronic Care in Africa” project winning the Judge’s Choice Award for its innovative approach and impact, whilst the Community Choice Award went to the “Scaling up the CHAP-P: A Journey of Learning” project. For the Film Festival, Team EVO+ Columbia took home the Judges Choice Award, while iSISTAQUIT won the Audience Choice Award for their storytelling and creativity.

We also officially launched our top tips for engaging with researchers at the ASM. Policymakers and researchers, though crucial partners, often navigate different priorities. To bridge this gap, the GACD team has developed eight invaluable tips for researchers, providing insights on engaging with policymakers and influencing policy effectively. Read the top tips for effective engagement with policymakers, along with practical examples from GACD projects here.

The three-day conference buzzed with networking, interactive activities, and games, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration. A big thank you to all delegates for making the ASM 2023 a success.
