GACD is a collaboration of major international research funding agencies that combine their efforts to specifically address chronic, non-communicable diseases. The alliance focuses on implementation research that address NCD health priorities in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs) and in vulnerable and indigenous populations in high-income countries (HICs).
The e-Hub is a comprehensive, free, online learning space for knowledge and skill development in implementation research, particularly in relation to chronic and non-communicable diseases.
The e-Hub is intended for researchers, students, policymakers, and practitioners at any stage in their career, from anywhere in the world, interested in improving their knowledge of implementation research, especially those working in the prevention and management of NCDs, or in low-resource settings.
Resources on the e-Hub include self-directed training, evidence summaries, interactive learning tools, and an index of international lectures and case studies.
The e-Hub draws on expertise within the GACD Research Network, and its development has been led by Prof. Brian Oldenburg and his colleagues at the University of Melbourne. The e-Hub, funded by GACD, will be continuously developed and updated as the field evolves, with contributions and advice from implementation science experts around the world.
Participants at our 2020 Implementation Science School piloted the e-Hub and over 90 per cent of trainees agreed that the e-Hub was easy to use, navigate, and access content, and 97 per cent were satisfied with their experience of using the e-Hub. One trainee said: “I like the eHub because it provides an avenue to have access to multiple resources at a central location and it has a very easy navigation system.”
"We aim to strengthen implementation science research and methodology globally and we are anticipating that the new online hub will extend our reach", added Morven Roberts, CEO of GACD.
